This candied nuts recipe makes a topping for salads, ice cream and other dishes.
1 Cup – Sugar
1 Cup – Nuts – Can be walnuts, pecans, almonds, etc.
1. Place a 12-inch saute pan over high heat (425 – 450 deg. F) with one cup of sugar. Once the sugar is completely melted and golden brown, add one cup of your favorite toasted nuts.
(Cook’s Note: Candied nuts are easiest to make in a 12-inch saute pan. We freeze any leftover nuts for later use.)
2. Stir with a silicone spatula until completely coated. Turn out onto parchment-lined sheet tray and let cool. When cool, roughly chop the nuts with a sharp knife. You can also pulse them in a food processor until they are coarsely chopped.
